Donald Trump’s attempt to troll Kamala Harris by stepping behind the counter at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s took a sharp turn when it was revealed that the branch has a history of health violations. The former president worked the fry cooker without gloves or a hairnet, raising serious concerns about food safety protocols.

This location had previously received four violations from the Bucks County Health Department, including issues with employees not properly washing their hands before food handling and a lack of hair restraints for staff.

“Food employees are not washing their hands as required before putting on gloves, after handling soiled tableware, after handling raw meat, before handling clean tableware, equipment, utensils. CFSM must review hand washing requirements with staff. Observed employees handling raw beef with gloves and then switching gloves without hand washing step in-between,” the health inspector wrote.

A health inspection report from March also noted that management was also non-compliant in following safety standards.

McDonald’s workers have now given their verdict on the former president’s performance – and they did not hold back.

The restaurant closed for about 30 minutes for Trump’s photo op, leaving uncertainty over whether workers were compensated during this time. With average pay for fast-food employees ranging from $13 to $15 per hour, the implications of the shutdown are significant. Trump avoided questions about supporting a minimum wage increase, instead praising the hard work of fast-food employees without addressing their financial struggles.

In a statement, Trump claimed he had “worked 15 minutes more than Kamala” at McDonald’s, further pushing his narrative that her past job was exaggerated. This claim was echoed by his son, Donald Trump Jr., who suggested that Harris was trying to appear relatable.

“I think my father knows the McDonald’s menu much better than Kamala Harris ever did,” he said.
