Tucker Carlson Sparks Outrage For Comparing America to a ‘Bad Little Girl’ Who Trump is About to ‘Spank’
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson sparked outrage during a rally for Donald Trump in Duluth, Georgia, where he delivered a bizarre metaphor comparing the former president to a father figure who would discipline a “bad little girl.”
Addressing the crowd before Trump took the stage, Carlson framed a potential Trump victory in next month’s presidential election as a parental intervention. He likened America to a misbehaving child, suggesting that Trump, as a paternal figure, was needed to administer a “vigorous spanking” for the nation’s perceived misdeeds.
“If you allow your 2-year-old to smear the contents of his diapers on the wall of your living room and you do nothing about it, if you allow your 14-year-old to light a joint at the breakfast table, if you allow your hormone addled 15-year-old daughter to slam the door of her bedroom and give you the finger, you’re gonna get more of it and those kids are going to wind up in rehab,” Carlson told the enthusiastic MAGA audience. “It’s not good for you and it’s not good for them. No, there has to be a point at which Dad comes home.”
Carlson stated that when “Dad comes home,” he will be “pissed” but not vengeful, asserting his love for his “children” despite their disobedience.
The rhetoric took a troubling turn when Carlson explicitly stated, “When Dad gets home, you know what he says? ‘You’ve been a bad girl and you’re getting a vigorous spanking.’” He added that this disciplinary action would “‘not hurt me more than it hurts you. I’m not going to lie. It’s going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me,’” drawing unsettling parallels to authoritarian parenting (video below).
As Trump took the stage shortly after, supporters chanted phrases like “Daddy’s home” and “Daddy Don,” further amplifying the metaphor. However, the rally did not clarify what such a “vigorous spanking” of America would entail, amid rising concerns from former Trump allies and critics alike about his potential presidency.
Notably, former chief of staff John Kelly recently characterized Trump’s behavior as meeting the definition of “fascist,” a sentiment echoed by Vice President Kamala Harris during a CNN town hall event on Wednesday.
