Trump Accuses Kamala Harris of Running a ‘Campaign of Hate’ While Claiming He Runs a ‘Positive’ One After Biden’s ‘Garbage’ Gaffe
Former President Donald Trump, a man known for his hateful rhetoric, has taken aim at President Joe Biden, claiming that Biden’s remarks about his supporters are offensive, while simultaneously criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for what he describes as a “campaign of hate.” This reaction comes after Biden’s comments, which were intended to criticize Trump’s rhetoric during a recent rally, were interpreted by some as a slight against the broader Republican base.
Trump expressed his outrage over Biden’s alleged description of MAGA supporters as “garbage,” despite his own well-documented history of making derogatory comments about the entire country, labeling the U.S. as a “garbage can” multiple times. His statements have often included sweeping generalizations about immigrants, referring to them in dehumanizing terms, including calling some “no humans” during is rallies and calling his political opponents “radical left lunatics.”
In a post on Truth Social, he stated, “While I am running a campaign of positive solutions to save America, Kamala Harris is running a campaign of hate.” He accused Harris of making extreme comparisons between her political opponents and historical figures associated with mass murder.
“She has spent all week comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history. Now, on top of everything, Joe Biden calls our supporters ‘garbage,’” he wrote.
He continued, “You can’t lead America if you don’t love the American people,” further claiming that both Biden and Harris are unfit for the presidency. Trump also touted what he described as “the biggest, broadest, and most important political coalition in American history.”
Biden’s comments were triggered by remarks from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Trump rally, where Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico in derogatory terms. In response, Biden clarified that he was addressing the “hateful rhetoric” surrounding the rally, not the supporters themselves. White House spokesperson Andrew Bates reiterated that Biden’s comments were misinterpreted, emphasizing that the president was specifically condemning Hinchcliffe’s remarks.
Despite his criticism of Biden and Harris, Trump has faced scrutiny for his own language. He has previously referred to the nation in stark terms, labeling it a “dumping ground” and a “garbage can” for the world, which some have found hypocritical in light of his current accusations against the Democratic leaders.
During a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump further distanced himself from Hinchcliffe’s comments while simultaneously claiming strong support from the Puerto Rican community, asserting that he often receives warm welcomes from individuals of Puerto Rican descent.
As the political landscape heats up, both parties are gearing up for the election cycle, with Harris recently delivering a rallying speech emphasizing a vision of unity versus division. She framed the upcoming choice as one between a country rooted in freedom for all Americans and one that succumbs to chaos and division.
