Former President Donald Trump repeatedly attacked Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally on Wednesday, telling the crowd, “She’s totally against the Jewish people.”

The baseless claim would come as news to Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who is Jewish.

Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden announced on Sunday that he is not seeking reelection. Trump and his campaign will now need to shift gears, as much of their strategy centered on the 81-year-old president’s cognitive abilities.

Earlier in the day, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to a joint session of Congress, though many Democrats boycotted the address amid mounting Palestinian casualties in Israel’s war in Gaza. Harris did not attend, as she had a previously scheduled commitment, but will meet with Netanyahu while he is in the U.S.

Speaking to a crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trump ripped the vice president:

For good measure, Trump re-upped his criticisms of American Jews who vote for Democratic candidates.

“And it amazes me how Jewish people will vote for the Democrats when they’re being treated so disrespectfully and badly,” he added. “It amazes me. It’s shocking. I don’t, I don’t get it. I don’t get it.”

Elsewhere in his speech, Trump reassured the crowd that after the assassination attempt against him earlier this month, he has not changed.

“I’m not gonna be nice!” he said.
