Terrified Trump Now Claims it’s ‘Unconstitutional’ For Harris to Run Against Him For President
It’s gotten completely out of hand at this point.
Trump is now so completely scared of losing his race for the presidency — of being humiliated again on the national stage — that he’s resorted to absolutely ridiculous statements. Idiotic tactics. Desperate measures.
In a follow-up to his recent post on Truth Social that insanely suggested that Biden was going to crash the Democratic National Convention and retake his place as the nominee, he elaborated to a social media audience:
“This was a coup of a president of the United States. He didn’t want to leave, and they said, ‘We can do it the nice way, or we can do it the hard way.’
[Harris taking over from Biden] seems to me, actually, unconstitutional. Perhaps it’s not.”
That doesn’t sound exactly crazy, coming from Trump. In fact, it sounds like he’s planting the seeds of what will ultimately turn out to be him claiming he was the victim of cheating again. It sounds like “Stop the Steal” all over again, in advance.
But despite the fact that House Speaker Mike Johnson has made similar claims (in advance) of Kamala possibly facing some sort of legal challenge to her presidency, the ingredients are not yet all in their talking point soup. Nothing specific has been said, they’re just kind of implying it at this point.
That will be enough for his rabid supporters to grasp on to, of course.
But the reality is, they have nothing. There is no law preventing her nomination, and Biden had already stepped aside and endorsed her long before the Democrats had even held their virtual “roll call” vote.
When they finally did, she got 99 percent of the vote. She is the nominee, and provided Trump doesn’t do something shady, she’ll be the president.
But Trump is making it obvious that he has no intention of going away quietly. Even one of his former biggest supporters, John Bolton, questioned what Trump thinks he’s going to point to as evidence of cheating this time. He did acknowledge, however, that Trump can’t stand not winning.
Bolton put out a warning: “We know one thing for sure: Trump never loses. And so if he’s not declared the winner of 2024, as in 2020, it must be because he was treated unfairly yet again; it was stolen yet again,” he told Kaitlan Collins
“I don’t think he knows exactly what his theory is going to be this time to explain how he was denied winning the election, so he’s trotting out a number of things. And I think this is why people need to start thinking more now about how to deny Trump the ability, the day after the election, if he loses, to try and throw the process into chaos again.”
Because chaos is exactly what Trump wants.
