Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, appearing on Fox News with host Bill Hemmer, has a reaction nobody saw coming during their discussion. As the host lamented the situation regarding the unexpected exit of Joe Biden from the presidential race.
After Hemmer tried to wrangle Walz in by saying that it was ironic to say “that Donald Trump is bad for democracy” (since Republicans believe it wasn’t “fair” for Biden to drop out and force them to run against someone else), Walz talked some sense on the right-wing network.
“What I know is, Democrats are willing to move when the situation warrants it,” Walz said. “Look, it doesn’t matter convictions, it doesn’t matter failed policies, the Republican party is stuck with Donald Trump. He’s yours, you got him, welcome to it!”
Obviously, Trump couldn’t wipe fast enough to sputter out a response, as though he’d been waiting to hear his name mentioned all day. He may have even gotten a mess on the screen of his phone, as he jumped on social media to fire back:
“Why did Fox News put up Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, where I am leading? They make me fight battles where I shouldn’t have to fight!”
And we all know how much Trump hates to be laughed at — he said exactly that during a rally earlier this month:
Honestly, you have to see the video to get why Walz is laughing at the beginning, but everything he says SCREAMS fairness on the part of Democrats and sour grapes inside the GOP.
“Hemmer: It looks pretty obvious that the Democratic Party leapfrogged the entire democratic system. And they did it in about 24 hours publicly.
Walz: Look the process has always been there … What I know is, Democrats are ready to move when the situation warrants it … The Democratic Party can make our decisions, we pick our nominee, if you don’t like it, don’t vote for it in November. But I think the American public are going to see, they knew that this administration was delivering, we knew that economic numbers, based against global numbers, America’s in a far better shape, and we also know that a foreign policy that respects our alliances, not cozying up to dictators like Putin and Orban, is not the way to go.”
Watch the exchange here, and take note of how Walz face turns from one of mirth at the entire whiny argument to absolute seriousness when it comes to the consequences of this election.
Donald can whine all he wants while he prepares to look like a chump debating Kamala Harris.
