Trump Fears Being Called a ‘Convicted Felon’ by Harris on National TV and is Demanding Immediate ‘Termination’ of Hush Money Case Ahead of Debate

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a furious tirade on Truth Social, demanding the immediate dismissal of his hush money case and denouncing it as “election interference.” Trump’s explosive outburst comes in the wake of his being labeled a “convicted felon,” a tag that has clearly rattled him as he prepares for his crucial presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, a former prosecutor, on September 10 in Philadelphia.

Trump’s anxiety is further fueled by the prospect of Harris, a former prosecutor known for her sharp questioning and confrontational style, publicly branding him a “convicted felon” during the debate. Sources close to the campaign suggest that Trump is deeply concerned about Harris highlighting his legal troubles on national television, fearing it could significantly damage his campaign’s momentum and public image.

In a raging post, Trump lashed out at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, calling the investigation a “Witch Hunt” and insisting, “I DID NOTHING WRONG!” He further charged that the case was a deliberate attempt by Vice President Kamala Harris to undermine his campaign and should be “terminated” to preserve the integrity of what he claims is the “Most Important Election in the History of our Country.”

“The Manhattan D.A. Witch Hunt has been postponed because everyone realizes that there was NO CASE, I DID NOTHING WRONG!,” Trump asserted. “It is a political attack against me by Comrade Kamala Harris and other Radical Left Opponents for purposes of Election Interference, and is a case that should have never been brought.”

He continued, “Nothing like this has ever happened in the United States of America – IT IS STRICTLY THIRD WORLD, BANANA REPUBLIC “STUFF.” Importantly, The Public understands this, and so does every Legal Scholar, Expert, and Luminary, including Andy McCarthy, Jonathan Turley, Alan Dershowitz, Mark Levin, Steven Calabresi, David Rivkin, Gregg Jarrett, Katie and Andrew Cherkasky, Elie Honig, and many others.”

“I greatly appreciate the words “if necessary” being utilized in the Decision, because there should be no “if necessary” – This case should be rightfully terminated, as we prepare for the Most Important Election in the History of our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!,” he added.

Trump’s outburst comes as he readies for a high-stakes debate at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia—a critical battleground state. The debate, marking the first direct clash between Trump and Harris, will see the candidates’ microphones muted when they are not speaking—a rule seemingly designed to prevent Trump from launching into unscripted tirades.

Despite agreeing to the debate rules set by ABC News, Trump continued to attack the network in a heated interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News. He accused ABC News of dishonesty, alleging that Harris might be given questions ahead of time, and mocked anchor George Stephanopoulos with a derisive nickname, “George Slopadopoulos.” Trump’s comments were met with approval from his base, further intensifying the debate’s pre-event drama.

The debate will be moderated by David Muir of “World News Tonight” and Linsey Davis of ABC News Live “Prime.” It will feature 90 minutes of debate time, split into two segments with commercial breaks. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to questions, with an additional minute for rebuttals and clarifications.

There will be no live audience, and candidates will be prohibited from using props or pre-written notes. They will be provided only a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water at their podiums. Campaign staff will be barred from interacting with the candidates during breaks.

A virtual coin toss determined the debate’s podium placement and the order of closing statements. Trump, who won the toss, opted to deliver the final closing statement, while Harris chose the stage-left position. The debate promises to be a high-stakes confrontation as both candidates prepare for a critical showdown.
